From dental medicine to oral surgery
Albin Tahiri graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana in 2017 and qualified as a doctor of dental medicine.
After graduation, he worked for three years as a general dentist. That experience gave him a broad view of tooth preservation, prosthetic planning and patients’ needs before surgery.
Specialist training in oral surgery
He began specialist training in oral surgery in 2021 through Dr Adolf Drolc Health Centre Maribor and trained at the Department of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery at University Medical Centre Ljubljana.
In 2026 he was listed in the Medical Chamber of Slovenia register as a specialist in oral surgery. His professional path is focused on surgical diagnosis, planning and treatment.
Focused surgical care
At OrthoDental, Albin focuses on implant-related surgery and complex extractions. The type and timing of a procedure are determined only after a specialist examination and assessment of the clinical findings and diagnostic images.
He first reviews the available orthopantomogram, CBCT or other documentation, then explains the options, expected course, limitations and recovery. An examination and a procedure are not always performed on the same day.
Discipline from elite sport
Albin was the first athlete to represent Kosovo at the Winter Olympic Games. As an alpine skier, he competed at PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022.
Years of training reinforced the value of preparation, focus and responsibility—qualities that are equally important in surgical work.
