My path in dental medicine
I am Pia Slana, a doctor of dental medicine and a dentist at OrthoDental. I completed my studies at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, in 2024. From my third year onward, I gained clinical experience across different areas of dentistry as part of my studies.
After graduating, I continued my professional training with an internship in a dental practice in Zagreb. I now work in Ljubljana and continue to develop my clinical knowledge and experience.
Prosthodontics and treatment planning
I am particularly interested in prosthodontics and implantology from the perspective of treatment planning. My master’s thesis, “Prosthodontically Driven Dental Implant Therapy – Chairside Protocol”, examined prosthetically driven implant planning and its clinical application.
This background helps me plan functional and aesthetic prosthetic solutions. When treatment includes a surgical implant stage, care is coordinated with the oral surgeon.
My clinical work
At OrthoDental I treat children, teenagers and adults. My work includes preventive examinations, conservative and root-canal treatment, fixed and removable prosthodontics, straightforward extractions and aesthetic dentistry.
I focus on accurate diagnosis and individual treatment planning so that function and appearance are aligned with each patient’s needs. I also became a certified Invisalign provider in 2024 and use modern clear-aligner approaches where appropriate.
A calm and understandable approach
I want every patient to understand what the examination shows and what options are available. Before treatment I explain the proposed steps and make room for questions.
I know that a dental visit can feel uncomfortable or stressful. I aim to create a relaxed relationship where kindness and a little humour are part of the experience. Outside work I enjoy sport, knitting and baking cakes.
